Steve Harris joined the firm in 2007. He serves as an advisor to compensation committees of major companies and, on behalf of the committees, works closely with management to evaluate and redesign pay programs. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Worldwide Partner and worked for 19 years with Mercer, providing executive compensation advice to board members and management of some of Mercer’s largest clients.
Steve has consulted for more than 25 years in all areas of executive compensation, focusing particularly on the design and use of performance-based total compensation programs. He has also provided briefings on executive pay trends to U.S. Senate and House staff as well as senior officials within the departments of Treasury and Labor. Earlier in his career, Steve worked in the business planning function of a Fortune 100 integrated manufacturing company, and managed compensation in a Fortune 200 high technology company. His clients reflect a cross-section of industry sectors and include DuPont, UPS, AT&T, and Delta Air Lines, among other leading companies.
He is a faculty member for WorldatWork, a contributing author for two books on executive pay and has written articles for several professional journals. In addition, he has been quoted in various business publications including The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, and The Financial Times.
