Executive Compensation Consultant - Project Manager

FW Cook project managers are actively engaged in all aspects of the client relationship, which may include data collection, analysis, drafting reports, and client presentation. Demonstrated success in the role will result in broader responsibilities and opportunities to develop new business as a lead consultant and serve some of the world’s largest publicly held companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising the day-to-day completion of project work and interfacing with clients
  • Managing the project life cycle from establishing objectives, staffing projects, determining budgets and timelines, analyzing data, developing recommendations and solutions, preparing client reports and presenting to the client
  • Training and managing junior consultants assigned to consulting projects
  • Contributing to firm-wide development of intellectual capital and other marketing efforts
  • Maintaining a strong knowledge base in the areas of finance, accounting, tax, securities law, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance as they relate to the field of compensation

Examples of Projects and Activities:

  • Analysis of compensation elements, levels and practices to assess market competitiveness of executive compensation
  • Development of compensation strategies which support client companies' long-term business strategies
  • Design, development and review of annual bonus and long-term incentive programs
  • Analysis of the financial performance of clients and their peer companies to assess performance relative to compensation programs
  • Review and analysis of client executive compensation programs in light of proxy advisory firm guidelines
  • Collaboration with client and their legal counsel on drafting annual proxy disclosure
  • Research of compensation related accounting and tax rules, securities law and corporate governance issues

Qualifications and Key Characteristics:

  • Minimum five years of progressive project management experience in the field of executive compensation or in a related professional services field such as legal, accounting, tax or consulting
  • Bachelor’s degree (analytical major such as finance, accounting or economics preferred); advanced degrees and professional certifications desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Excellent management and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with proficiency in drafting business correspondence, reports and presentations
  • Strong work ethic and a service-oriented mentality
  • High moral character, integrity, and adherence to the highest business ethics standards
